A Love Story Unveiled: Amy and Josh's Romantic Wedding Journey

As soon as I met Amy & her lovely mum, there was no doubt in my mind that I had to blog her stunning summer wedding. It just so happened that this wedding was also jam packed with some of my all time favourite wedding vendors too!

The Love Story

Amy and Josh's love story began in 2016 at the North West weekend in Portrush. Josh's infectious personality and Amy's down-to-earth charm created an instant connection. Their first date in Belfast lead to six lovely years together, then on a chilly New Year's Day in 2022, Josh nervously proposed at the Mussendem Temple, leading to the most special moment neither would forget.

The pair decided on the Ivory Pavilion in Ballymena for their special day, falling in love with the venue's mix of classic and modern elements, surrounded by stunning grounds. Amy and Josh wed on 11th August 2023 and the big day unfolded seamlessly. Amy's mum walked her down the aisle with overwhelming pride. "I've always been full of admiration for my mum but more so than ever as she gave me away on my wedding I felt so truly blessed to have such a beautiful, amazing mum. As difficult as she found it to be the one to give me away, it was such a special moment for me to have her by my side. In that moment my heart was so full"

Looking back on their day, Amy says her favourite moments include locking eyes with Josh as she walked down the aisle to Sleeping at last by Turning Page and sharing a private moment just before the reception entrance. "We were just absolutely beaming" she recalls, "we were so happy to finally be husband and wife"

The pair Honeymooned in Florence, a magical experience filled with breathtaking landscapes, delectable cuisine, and precious moments of relaxation and exploration. Amy recalls "it was the perfect location to relax and unwind but also do some sightseeing after a manic few weeks in the lead up to the wedding”.

Amy really enjoyed the whole wedding planning process but she advises couples to plan early as alot of suppliers book up quickly but also not to be discouraged if initial choices aren't available, "there are so many incredibly talented suppliers, so you'll never be short of options", she says. Amy found support and drew inspiration from wedding groups, and emphasised the importance of doing what makes the couple happy.

"It's your special day so ensure its the day you want it to be and enjoy every minute in the lead up to the wedding"

The Little Details

Amy chose the most stunning, elegant dress from Castle Couture in Galgorm, pairing it with our gorgeous, pearl covered, Alexene heels by Harlo Australia. Her hair was effortlessly styled in a half up, fishtail crown braid by Kim Annesley adorned with our subtle Crystal Pearl Pin set. Amy finished her timeless bridal look with our classic Heirloom Earrings. Her mummy surprised her on the morning of the wedding with one of our simple pear shaped bracelets from Swedish designer Lily & Rose by Zetterberg.

Amy and Josh's love story has unfolded into a beautiful tale of romance, a day filled with love, laughter, and the promise of a lifetime together.
I asked them to describe their wedding day in three words… "romantic, elegant, and fun" or simply put, "THE BEST DAY." 🫶🏼
